Director

Matthew is a Director of Meillon & Bright Legal. Matthew provides family law and estate planning services to clients from our Western Australian office in North Fremantle, and our NSW office in Newport on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Matthew has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce and is admitted in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia.

Matthew works exclusively in family law and estate planning and has a particular interest in:

Prior to practicing in family law, Matthew worked both in-house for an ASX listed company and for a boutique commercial and corporate firm in Perth where he advised clients on a wide range of commercial and corporate law matters including:

  • asset and share acquisitions (including takeovers and mergers);
  • corporate and group restructures;
  • advising on corporate governance;
  • drafting and reviewing a range of corporate and commercial documents
  • estate planning;
  • proving legal and strategic advice to a range of corporate clients.

Matthew’s diverse commercial experience, over a range of practice areas, means he is able to offer clients a well-rounded approach to resolve complex issues. Matthew works in conjunction with a wide network of professionals including commercial lawyers, accountants, financial advisors and taxation specialists to advise clients holistically with their respective family law matters.

Matt is a member of:

  • Law Society of Western Australia;
  • Family Law Practitioner’s Association of Western Australia;
  • Family Law Section from the Law Council of Australia; and he is a panellist with Legal Aid Western Australia.
