The name Meillon & Bright originated from our Director’s late grandmother, Rita Meillon (nee Bright), known by those who loved her as “Grandma”.
Grandma was born on 14 September 1919 and passed away on 23 March 2011, aged not quite 92 years.
Grandma was a determined, resilient and independent woman who showed compassion and care in the face of many family law challenges across her years.
The painting of the gates hanging in the reception area of Meillon & Bright is titled “Grandma’s Gates”. These gates were the entry to Grandma’s home, where children from all backgrounds were able to come and play in her enchanted garden. It was a sanctuary for all.
We will be forever grateful to our dear friend, Glenda Farmer, for her love and care in painting “Grandma’s Gates”. We cannot thank her enough.
